Dreaming of East Mountain tells a story about the growth and transformation of four young people. After experiencing all kinds of difficulties, they finally realize their dreams, find true love and gain self-confidence. The main character Li Jiaxin, is an ordinary girl with no family background. She has been living in the shadow of her elder sister since childhood. In order to break free from this situation, she decides to go to college in Shanghai alone and start a new life there. During her college years, she meets three good friends who share similar experiences: Chai Xiaoxiao was abandoned by his parents; Yang Xinran was sent away by his adoptive father; Zou Yanyan had lost her mother at an early age due to illness. While helping each other through various challenges and growing together as individuals, they eventually become successful in their respective fields after graduation. They also fall in love with those whom they truly care for and support one another throughout their lives thereafter.
